MTV
MTV is a cable television network that was launched in the United States in 1981. The name "MTV" originally stood for "Music Television," and the network was created to broadcast music videos 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The launch of MTV had a significant impact on popular culture, as it helped to popularize the music video as an art form and made celebrities out of musicians who appeared in popular videos. MTV also became known for its programming beyond music videos, including reality shows such as "The Real World" and "Jersey Shore," as well as comedy shows and other types of programming. MTV has expanded its reach globally and now has networks in over 180 countries.
