The Minions is a 2015 American computer-animated comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures. It is a spin-off/prequel to the "Despicable Me" franchise and the third installment overall.[1] The film follows the story of three Minions named Kevin, Stuart, and Bob, who set out on a journey to find a new villain to serve. The film was directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda and features the voices of Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, and Michael Keaton, among others.

The Minions became a beloved and entertaining part of popular culture and has spawned merchandise, theme park attractions, and a sequel titled Minions: The Rise of Gru, set to be released in 2022.
